Massage Laws and Regulations

Massage Laws and Regulations are necessary to protect the consumer from an untrained therapist. Massage Therapists are required to be licensed, registered, or certified in the District of Columbia and 25 states. There are 11 states that the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) are in the process of passing legislation. Massage Therapists usually have to complete at least 500 hours in-class and to pass an exam. The laws differ from each state. Massage Laws and Regulations will give people a feeling of safety, professionalism, and an overall effectiveness in their session.
